Sometimes you just really want to hit a true beach bar on St Pete Beach and chill for the day. Not a restaurant that has a bar, but a bar that happens to serve food. A place where you and a group of friends can play pool, have a few drinks and grab a platter of something beachy to eat. That was my goal with this list of True Beach Bars on St Pete Beach. I collected my favorite places to have drinks with friends, dig my toes in the sand and just let loose for the day.

True Beach Bars on St Pete Beach :

Toasted Monkey

6110 Gulf Boulevard
St Pete Beach, Florida 33706

Thatched roof fun right on the beach is what makes Toasted Monkey so popular. Live music and beach volleyball round out your day at the Toasted Monkey. Great drinks, wines and beers (draft and bottles) and food served from 7am until 10:30pm gives you no reason to leave. Why not make a day of the Toasted Monkey?

UnderTow Beach Bar

3850 Gulf Boulevard
St Pete Beach, Florida 33706

The UnderTow Beach Bar is the party bar located right on the beach. Young and happening, this beach bar is the epitome of Florida fun in the sun. Undertow serves up great mixed drinks, buckets of beer and tons of fun. They even has an upper deck complete with tanning chaise. UnderTow is where you meet all your friends for a day at the beach. At UnderTow Beach Bar you can party dawn till midnight in your bathing suit. Catch rays as you play pool, beach volleyball and listen to great bands.

Bongos Beach Bar & Grille

Grand Plaza Hotel Beachfront Resort & Conference Center
5250 Gulf Boulevard
St Pete Beach, Florida 33706

Bongos is known for great drinks and a place you bring friends for a fun, elegant night out. Actually, night time is when Bongos comes alive. Bongo’s has the best outside seating area, especially if you are looking for a way to spend the evening at a bar with live music.

Rum Runner’s and Harry’s Beach Bar

Strata Beach Resort & Conference Center
5300 Gulf Boulevard
St Pete Beach, Florida 33706

Rum Runner’s known for being a fun place day or night, has great drinks, it is poolside and faces the beach. The food is great, too– they serve Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Try their Sirata Punch, it goes down very easily. Great ambiance day or night.

PJ’s Oyster Bar

595 Corey Avenue
St Pete Beach, Florida 33706

PJ’s is a local favorite. Not only does PJ’s have great drinks, but they have some of the best food on the beaches. They are known for their oysters, gator and fries. They are a local staple for a reason and you gotta try PJ’s. I go about once a month. They are worth it.
