Tampa Bay Chocolate For Your Sweet Tooth
Sometimes our sweet tooth can get the best of us. For those dire times, we are graced with magnificent Tampa Bay chocolate shoppes. If it were the middle ages, these chocolatiers would be called alchemists and they would embody wizard-like genius. They would be living with kings, spending their hours making one person happy. Thank goodness it is the modern day and we, the humble masses, have the chance to experience some of the most amazing chocolates in Florida– dare I say, the world.
Viktoria Richards chocolates are in the tradition of Swiss chocolatiers; she boldly claims to never use white chocolate. We all know that white chocolate is what is left over after making chocolate; therefore, is not really chocolate to begin with ( I totally agree with her philosophy). I have been blessed to have tasted her chocolates and they are divine. My fave? The Earl Grey Lavender, of course. She perfectly balanced the bergamot and chocolate with the lavender, which is extremely difficult to do. She created the Pineapple Chipotle and White Night Sangria. She even carries seasonal chocolates. These can only be purchased online or at Mari Caron Chocolates, inside the Empress Tea Room, and other fine retailers.

Pate de Fruit, Candied Ginger, 12 piece macaron box, Chocolate Orange peels and decadent chocolates are what makes William Dean Chocolate so famous. My favorites? The Banana’s Foster and the Grand Marnier Caramel. I have to admit I have a special place in my German heart for the candied orange peels (waste not, want not). Other items that William Dean is known for are their chocolate bars and popcorn. Visit their online store or visit the brick and mortar store and press your nose against the glass of the displays while picking out your favorites.

A dream come reality by Stephen Ashworth; Ashworth Artisan Chocolates was a long time in the making. Stephen spent years with other big-name chocolate companies and opened his doors to the city of Tampa– he was instantly a hit. He makes all sorts of chocolate and in all different forms. He makes bars, mendiants and specialty chocolates. His chocolate is in the style of the Belgian chocolatiers and it is darn good. My fave? The nutty sister bar, mainly because I like nuts and I have two crazy sisters. Put them together and it is awesome. The Rhino bar is divine, as is the way Stephen mixes fruit with chocolate. The most important part? Eating it.
