When the locals think of Dunedin restaurants, they think of the following places. These restaurants on my list highlight the best that the dining scene has to offer in downtown Dunedin. They offer a combination of location, atmosphere, food and service that makes Dunedin unique. Dunedin is known for two things when it comes to food, brunch and fine dining.

Best Dunedin Restaurants  :

The Living Room on Main

Dunedin, Florida 34698

The Living Room on Main is one of the top Dunedin restaurants. Why you ask? Anyone who has been to the Living Room on Main will tell you it has impeccable food, friendly service and live entertainment. Speaking of entertainment, the Living Room brings in live bands– from jazz to country to reggae– and what a way to spend an evening with friends in the restaurants in Dunedin.

319 Main Street
Dunedin, Florida 34698

Kelly’s for Just About Anything. Kelly’s has been around Dunedin since the late 80’s and is the leader in the area for breakfast, lunch and dinner. About a decade ago, they opened up the martini bar called The Chic a Boom Room and have not looked back. You can literally come to Kelly’s for just about anything.

Jensen’s Brothers Seafood

911 Douglas Avenue
Dunedin, Florida 34698

Jensen Brothers is where the locals get fresh seafood. A bonus is that Jensen Brothers sells retail and wholesale, so you know you are getting the same quality as the fancy Dunedin restaurants. Floridians know the freshest seafood is the stuff you catch yourself or the seafood you buy from Jensen Brothers.

The Black Pearl Restaurant

315 Main Street
Dunedin, Florida 34698

The Black Pearl Restaurant in Dunedin offers impressive faire. The Fried Green Tomatoes are the best I have ever had. The Black Pearl Salad is very Florida– with greens, cheese and pine nuts. Who else serves duckling and white truffle Maine lobster and New Zealand rack of lamb? No one, but the Black Pearl. High-end dining in the heart of Dunedin.

Rosie’s Tavern of Dunedin

730 Broadway
Dunedin, Florida 34698

Rosie’s Tavern reminds me of the pubs I saw in Europe. Rosie’s is a quaint neighborhood tavern filled with friends, fun and great food. People that visit Rosie’s love it and become loyal clientele. Ask about the Cowpig. Dog-friendly. Beer flows like wine. One of my personal favorites of all the Dunedin restaurants.

Cafe Alfresco

344 Main Street
Dunedin, Florida 34698

This cafe is right off the Pinellas Trail and makes a great spot to ride to for brunch, lunch or dinner. Cafe Alfresco serves up tasty brunch items like Crab Cakes Benedict and French Toast a la Ritz. The lunch and dinner menus are no less fabulous. They make a mean Wedge Salad and Lobster Salad. This should definitely be a stop on your trip to Dunedin.

Sweet Peas Cafe

434 Virginia L North Street
Dunedin, Florida 34698

Sweet Peas serves up good wholesome food. Nothing strange or fancy, just good simple food. That is hard to do and be nutritious at the same time. There is nothing on the menu that I would not eat. It is the sort of food you should be feeding yourself on a daily basis, but why make it yourself when you can go pick it up at Sweet Peas. The menu is a no-guilt menu with tasty salads, sandwiches and hummus. They have baked goods and offer a Gluten-free menu, and thank goodness for that. A visit to Sweet Peas is definitely a good idea.

1714 County Road One
Dunedin, Florida 34698

A family-run restaurant with friendly service and really good food is why Bonnie’s made this list. Bonnie’s has loyal customers that come back week after week for meals, from breakfast to brunch to lunch. Good coffee and excellent pancakes of monster proportions makes Bonnie’s not just yummy but economical, too.

Benedict’s Family Restaurant

2676 Bayshore Boulevard
Dunedin, Florida 34698

Benedict’s Family Restaurant has the best Lox. They are known for their breakfast skillets, quiches and chicken cordon Bleu omelette. For lunches they serve up fat juicy burgers and gyros, too. And their Turkey Waldorf is tasty. I am a huge fan of Liver & Onions and Benedict’s does them to perfection. Benedict’s has call-ahead service so you can run in, eat, then go on those tightly scheduled days. If you are strolling around craving breakfast, Benedict’s is one of the Dunedin restaurants to not overlook.
